Provides an overview of the role of the Designated Competent Person (DCP) in managing accident and incident investigations within Network Rail. It covers guidance on the duties and responsibilities which are contained within the Reporting and Investigation Manual procedures, and how to discharge them effectively. Following successful completion of this module those formally identified as a DCP will have a coaching session arranged with a Senior Investigator to discuss their understanding of the role.
